European Notarial Network (ENN) - A notarial network of legal practice

    At the meeting in Marseille, on 11 of October 2006, CNUE (Council of the Notariats of the European Union), main body representing the notarial profession in Europe, decided to create ENN (European Notarial Network).

    ENN is an instrument dealing with cross-border cases of civil law notaries of the 21 notarial organizations members of CNUE plus an observing member.

    The purpose of ENN is to help civil-law notaries facing practical problems with cross-border element.

    The political objective is to facilitate the integration of European notarial unions in the European Legal Network, for civil and commercial matters on medium and long term.

    The creation of a European legal area – notariats have their own role!
    There is a number increasingly large of citizens that create connections with links from other States for professional or family reasons. The need for legal advice raised by the intra-european mobility fall in the spectrum of notarial services.
    As civil-law notaries serving the families, these must have an active role in this area. The legal security and the equal access to justice for European citizens and families are crucial.

    ENN was created to help you and inform the European notary in cross-border case, like:
  • A succession, establishment of a company or a marriage contract with EU cross-border elements;
  • Necessity and/or option of the authentic form;
  • Looking for fellow speakers of one language to solve a case;
  • Submitting a request for a specific civil law notary in the country of destination.
    The network of interlocutors from 21 notarial organizations of CNUE allows immediate support for European civil-law notaries.
